Hello fellow real ale fans
The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) is an independent, voluntary organisation campaigning for real ale, community pubs and consumer rights. We now have over 160,000 members and have been described as the most successful consumer campaign in Europe.
At local level, CAMRA’s Leicester branch has around 1800 members and organises events to promote real ale, including regular social activities, day trips, brewery visits etc, as well as producing our popular Leicester Drinker magazine.
Our “LocAle” scheme encourages pubs to stock at least one beer from a local brewery. This helps to reduce “beer miles”, boosts the local economy and creates an increased sense of local identity and pride.
Our next event: The Leicester Cider Trail, 19th September to 18th October
Next Branch Meeting: Wednesday 7th September, 7.30pm, The Ale Wagon, Leicester.
Our Branch Meetings are open to all members and non-members and allow us to update you with campaign news, branch activities, share pub and brewery news and more, all over a pint or two.
For full details of all forthcoming Leicester CAMRA events see our Branch Diary page
